Miranda Haymon is an artist working at the intersection of theater, film, performance art and new media. Their debut film Sis (2023) takes an awkward encounter between exes at a party and turns it on its head. A romance of sorts blossoms between two Black women, highlighting the incongruities of staged situations and, by extension, the absurdities of how social reality is constructed. The artist collaborated with designer Campbell Silverstein to create a limited edition zine giving insight into the process of creating the film.
